Common Errors

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Most data exchange errors are caused by invalid data and can be corrected by referring to the messages shown in update status log under the "Status" tab.

For example, QuickBooks will return an error code when attempting to add an employee with an invalid state. If a state is entered in Back Office > Employees > Employee Editor, it should be a 2-letter uppercase and the correct abbreviation, i.e. for Texas enter TX. When attempting to send an employee with an invalid state, the error code returned by QuickBooks is 3110 and the error message is "The enumerated value 'Texas'; in the field 'state'; is unknown or invalid for the qbXML version in use." If state information is not required, the Amigo Pos back office field should be blank.

Another common error is attempting to transfer time sheet information for an Amigo Pos employee that does not exist in QuickBooks. The error code return by QuickBooks is 3140 and the error message is "There is an invalid reference to QuickBooks entity 'Max Born' in the TimeTracking.  QuickBooks error message: Invalid argument.  The specified record does not exist in the list."

When using social security numbers, the number must be entered in the correct format, i.e. ###-##-#### or the new employee transfer will fail. If social security numbers are not used, the Amigo Pos back office field should be blank.
