Amigo Pos 7 includes the ability to sell items based on the item weight and cost per unit. The item can either be weighed on a counter scale or the weight can be entered manually using the on-screen keypad. In the image below, taken from the back office menu items grid set to detail view, the following fields are used to determine the final price:
• | Price: The price to charge based on the counter scale unit of weight and the price by weight multiplier |
• | Sold By Weight: Check the box to show the scale prompt when the menu item is selected |
• | PLU: The unique numeric id used to lookup the item |
• | Price By Weight: Set to Yes to specify that the scale prompt will appear when this item is selected |
• | Price By Weight Multiplier: The value used to multiply the price to arrive at the final price per unit |
• | Price By Weight Suffix: The text to print after the price on the customer receipt and scale prompt |
If the counter scale's unit of measure is the pound, the price is multiplied by the Price By Weight Multiplier to determine the actual price per unit, so that the peanuts shown below cost $7.70 per pound, but are displayed on the customer receipt as $3.85/½LB. If all items are priced per the scale's unit of measure, the Price By Weight Multiplier can be set to 1 (default value).
