Installation

 

1.Download the Amigo Pos Quick Books Interface from http://www.amigopos.com/Support/DriversandUtilities.aspx. Note that QuickBooks 2012 requires the use of Amigo Pos QuickBooks Interface v3.7.4530 or later and Amigo Pos 7.12.51 or later.
2.Log in as Administrator and install the Amigo Pos QBI and Amigo Pos 7 on the same pc running QuickBooks. Install both applications in the same directory so that a common help file is used (the default installation directory is c:\Program Files\Amigo Pos)
3.Configure the Amigo Pos database using the Database Configuration Utility.
4.After installation, reboot and start the Amigo Pos QBI. If a database connection occurs, as shown below, open the Database Configuration Utility and confirm that the settings are correct.
5.Start QuickBooks. Click the QuickBooks tab in the Amigo Pos QBI and check the box next to Enable the Amigo Pos QuickBooks Interface. A delay of 20-30 seconds is possible  while the Amigo Pos QBI attempts to communicate with QuickBooks. This delay is normal and will occur whenever the Amigo Pos QBI is launched. After communications are established, the QuickBooks permissions dialog will appear, as shown below. After permissions are granted, click the Save button in the Amigo Pos QBI.

Permissions

 

The application must be given permission to interact with QuickBooks. Start the Amigo Pos QBI with QuickBooks already running. A prompt will appear asking the user to confirm that the application should be given sufficient permissions to interact with the QuickBooks company file. Select Yes, always allow access even if QuickBooks is not running and check the box to allow access to personal data (Required for Amigo Pos to transfer and modify employee data). Click the Continue... button and click the Done button at the next prompt to confirm.

Permissions can be reviewed, modified or removed in QuickBooks by clicking Edit - Preferences... and selecting the Integrated Applications shortcut. Select Amigo Pos QBI and click the Properties... button to view the settings.

Startup

 

Click the Amigo Pos QBI shortcut in the Amigo Pos program files folder to start the application. If the utility has been previously run, it may start minimized in the taskbar, next to the clock. Double click the icon to active the user interface. The Amigo Pos QBI requires 30 to 90 seconds initial startup, depending on the location of the Amigo Pos database and whether QuickBooks is already running.

 

After configuration and testing is complete, add the application to the Startup Folder so that it starts automatically whenever the PC is booted.
